Biography

Hwalani Mabaso is a transformational executive with over 20 years of leadership experience in financial services and digital innovation. Currently Executive: Everyday Advice and Distribution at Absa Group, she leads a national strategy across fintech, voice-led platforms, and multi-tied advisors, driving inclusive access to financial services through technology.

A passionate advocate for women’s advancement in tech and entrepreneurship, Hwalani serves on the Executive Board of Women in Tech® South Africa and chairs the University of Venda’s Centre for Entrepreneurship and Rapid Incubation. She was named a Mail & Guardian “Woman Changing South Africa” and is a finalist in the Standard Bank Top 40 Under 40.
